Terms of Use  |  Legal Information

Journiac Travel & Tours is a travel agency owned and operated by Julie Dupuis, Certified Travel Counsellor and Tour Specialist, who is also the sole administrator of the website https://journiactravel.ca. This page contains the Journiac Travel & Tours website Terms of Use, including its Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and Copyright Notice.

Privacy Policy

Visitor privacy is extremely important. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of personal information received and collected by this website, and how this information is used.

Personal Information

Visitors wishing to subscribe to receive email messages from Journiac Travel & Tours must provide their full name and email address. Journiac Travel & Tours reserves the right to contact subscribers with relevant information. Subscribers may unsubscribe at any time, either by clicking a link from an email message or by sending an email with an unsubscribe request.

Visitors who provide an email address to Journiac Travel & Tours will not be added to any mailing list without explicit consent. This includes but is not limited to email addresses submitted via contact forms, surveys, testimonials, or promotions.

Journiac Travel & Tours indefinitely stores the user-provided information gathered from its forms (subscriptions, contact, quote requests, reservations, contests, testimonials, etc.) in ClientBase Online from Tres Technologies, in Gmail, and in Google Contacts. Since the website is hosted by Bluehost, this service may also temporarily hold some information on the site’s behalf. Unless otherwise disclosed in advance, this information is strictly used for client services purposes, and not for marketing purposes.

Moreover, the Akismet anti-spam service collects information about visitors who submit a form on the site (such as the quote request form, or a promotional contest entry form, for instance). The information collected typically includes the submitter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and other information directly provided by the submitter, such as name, email address, and other information gathered on the form.

Clients with website accounts will also find their address and telephone number listed on their profile page, as well as a list of their travel interests and preferences. This information is used to serve clients, whose personal contact information is usually needed to make travel reservations, and whose travel preferences are helpful in determining the most appropriate travel products to recommend. This information may be updated by the client from within the website account, or by communicating directly with Journiac Travel & Tours. As the website administrator, Certified Travel Counsellor Julie Dupuis also has access to view, edit, and/or delete this information.

If an account holder requests a password reset, their IP address will be included in the reset email.

Clients who have an account on this site can request to receive an exported file of their personal data held on this website. Clients can also request that Journiac Travel & Tours erase any personal data held, not including any data obliged to be kept for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Cookies and Third Parties

This site uses cookies — small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain visitor preferences, store information for things like login sessions, and send anonymous tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics (which provides website statistics to webmasters). As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better.

This site does not share personal information with third parties or store any information about user visits, other than to analyze and optimize individual content and reading experience through the use of cookies. Journiac Travel & Tours uses Google Analytics to track anonymous website data, including user demographic and interest reports (for example, the percentage of website viewers that come from Ontario versus elsewhere in Canada, versus outside the country). Learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Furthermore, if you have an account and you log in to this site, a temporary cookie is set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. Also when you log in, several cookies are set up to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos or maps. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Regardless, some people may wish to disable cookies on this site and others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies by changing specific browser settings. Consult the browser’s Help section for more information, or visit the About Cookies website, which offers guidance for all modern browsers. To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you may wish to implement the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
